Business complex Lighthouse has been BREEAM-certified

11 September 2013 – O1 Properties is pleased to report that its Class A business complex, Lighthouse, has been certified under the British system of environmental assessment of buildings – BREEAM. The completed development has received the overall rating of 40.48% (Pass) and was granted the status of “green building” under international standards.

A number of measures have been undertaken in order to increase the ecological effectiveness of the Lighthouse, including using “safe” finishing materials, installation of energy-effective lighting and water consumption meters, increasing greenery of the site by planting new trees, monitoring energy consumption by each tenant, installation of bicycle parking, and so on. The building was designed taking into account the most modern engineering and technological solutions.

The architectural design of the Lighthouse was based on using the maximum amount of natural light. The panoramic glazing was done according to the international standards for insulation and energy preservation.

According to Alexandr Ostrovskiy, the CEO of O1 Properties, “The certification of the business complex Lighthouse under the international ecological standards is a confirmation of the high efficiency of the building. Clean environment is a key aspect of the company strategy, and we strive to have all our business centers comply with international environmental standards.”

BREEAM is one of the most well known and widespread methods of evaluating the environmental efficiency of buildings. To date, there are only eight buildings in Russia that have been BREEAM-certified, and three of them belong to O1 Properties portfolio: the Lighthouse, Ducat Place III and the White Square.
